I believe that we have the ability to heal ourselves, and that yoga is one somatic practice which can help us along the journey of unwinding old habits that no longer serve us, opening ourselves to our full potential, and expanding our consciousness.

My Path to Yoga
Having spent many years studying dance, I was first drawn to yoga, like so many others, as an exercise regime that incorporated flexibility and dynamic movement, but the practice quickly became much more to me. I started to notice patterns in my body's movement, thought habits that regularly repeated themselves, and even some aches and pains that I had been masterfully ignoring. This led me to seek a deeper understanding of the practice and tradition of yoga. I completed a 200 hour YTT in 2014 at Pura Vida Yoga in Shad Bay, NS with Courtney Trowse, in a beautiful boathouse on the ocean. Furthering my study, I completed a training in prenatal and postpartum yoga with TAYS Halifax in 2015, and studied mantra and bhajan, two of my personal passions, in northern India in the winters of 2016 and 2017. My training is in hatha yoga and my practice focuses on dynamic movements that honour the female form, exploring the body's range of motion and the breath's range of depth, as well as restorative postures, and releasing through sound.
